Nursing Contact Hours

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Completing the 8 module online portion is only part of the work toward credentialing.  In between the session and completing your two book reviews and Community Project, I don’t want you to feel disengaged or that you don’t really remember where things are at to get them sent in.

Here is the Final Tasks page, or you can email me at any time, at Heidi.Faith@stillbirthday.info.

The Final Tasks page also holds the link to complete the training evaluation, needed as requirement for nursing contact hours students.

It is when you successfully complete the entire course (book reviews, Community Project and online portion that has been designated for those who are desiring the contact hours) that you should then complete the training evaluation if you are in need of contact hours, and it is then that I send a copy of your training evaluation in, to the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation, for you.  They need to receive my copy of your training evaluation, and then they document your hours.

You may desire the nursing contact hours for continuing education for another doula certifying body, rather than for nursing continuing education.  Your other certifying body {DONA for example} will retrieve the information directly from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation, not from you or from me; so the process is the same, no matter how you need the contact hours or for what program.

I cannot be responsible for ensuring that you’ve completed the training evaluation for your contact hours.  If you desire the nursing contact hours, it is your responsibility to complete the track marked for contact hours and to complete the training evaluation.  When I receive these things, I will send in your training evaluation to them.

One simple way this unfolds is within just a modest amount of time after you submit all completed things, you’ll receive your SBD credential.  When you do, that might be the reminder to you to clarify that you need the contact hours, and we can look at things together to double check that the right track has been completed and that you have found the training evaluation link.  This will give you enough time that we can move forward following all of the procedures necessary according to the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

When you have completed the training and the training evaluation and it has been sent in for your nursing contact hours, you will receive a separate, unpublished certificate for your records that will inscribe the total of 30 nursing contact hours.
